About Us

Set just outside of Gainsborough, pet cremation services Westfields Pet Cremation is located on the site of Philip Lord’s fathers’ site, G W Lords. The business was established in 1879 and was much smaller than it is today and was based on Carlisle Street. This then moved to the site where it is today in the 1900’s and George William Lord took over and renamed the business G W Lord, which it still trades as today. When George sadly passed away in 1990, John Lord carried on the business after his father and continues to this day working alongside his son Phil Lord.

Throughout the years in operation, G W Lords have adapted their ways to improve the process for the clients and welcomed more and more private large animal cremations. Due to the success of our equine cremation services, Westfield Pet Cremations was created for small pet cremations service and since then the business has grown and adapted to provide the best possible services for our clients.

During the start of Westfields Pet Cremation in 2015, an entire new building was designed to create a calming and sympathetic atmosphere where pet owners can come and say their final goodbye to their beloved pets.

As soon as we called he answered with such care and compassion and was here to collect our beautiful boy within half an hour. Absolutely wonderful man, who showed so much compassion and support and one of the most difficult times. I was in absolute pieces and he made everything as manageable as possible. Kept in constant contact and promised his priority was getting Storm home, true to his word he was back home within a few days, even making sure he came at a time my husband was home to make it easier for me. Whenever we suggested payment he told us to wait until it was all finalised. I could not ever thank Phil enough for the exceptional service at one of the most heartbreaking of times.
